Ramie is a material, which will strengthen when it is wet. It has been traditionally used to create a fish net. The net is made stronger by persimmon and mud dyes.
When the net becomes too old for fishing, it was cut and made into a string so that it can be used as a weft for weaving. It shows how people used to treasure every bit of the material to the very end.
This is an extremely rare limited stock yarn. We will not be able to receive a new stock for a while after the current stock.
What can you do with it? For one - Coco Knits has created the most adorable plant nest! The pattern is available from cocoknits.com. Here is the link for you! https://cocoknits.com/collections/patterns/products/knitted-nest
